Slow Cooker Unstuffed Cabbage Rolls

  • 1 large head of cabbage
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Remove the core from the cabbage and blanch the leaves in boiling water for 2-3 minutes until softened.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, cooked rice, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, onion, garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Lay the cabbage leaves flat and place a portion of the meat mixture in each leaf. Roll and tuck the ends to secure.
  4. Place the rolls in the slow cooker, seam-side down, and drizzle with remaining tomato sauce.
  5. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 4-5 hours until the meat is cooked through.
