- 1 head cabbage
- 2 cups cooked Sela fish, flaked
- 1 cup rice, uncooked
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 can diced tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bring a large pot of water to boil and blanch the cabbage leaves for 2-3 minutes until softened.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté the onion and garlic until translucent.
- In a large bowl, combine flaked Sela fish, rice, sautéed onion and garlic, salt, pepper, diced tomatoes, and parsley.
- Place a spoonful of the mixture onto each cabbage leaf and roll tightly, tucking in the sides.
- Arrange the stuffed cabbage in a baking dish and pour any remaining tomato sauce over the top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
Notes
- For a spicier dish, add red pepper flakes to the filling.
- Try using other types of fish if Sela fish is unavailable.
