Ingredients
Scale
1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 pound beef sausage
1 large cabbage
1 cup cooked rice
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup tomato sauce
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Carefully remove the core from the cabbage and place the head in the boiling water for about 2 minutes to soften.
In a skillet, cook the beef sausage over medium heat until browned. Add the onion and garlic, and sauté until translucent.
Add the shrimp and Cajun seasoning to the skillet, cooking until the shrimp turn pink.
In a large bowl, mix the cooked rice, the sausage and shrimp mixture, salt, and pepper.
Take a cabbage leaf, place a generous amount of the filling in the center, and roll it up tightly. Repeat with the remaining leaves.
Place the stuffed cabbage rolls in a baking dish and pour the tomato sauce over them. Cover with foil.
Bake for about 45 minutes, removing foil in the last 10 minutes to let the tops brown slightly.
Serve warm and enjoy!
