Cajun Catfish Shrimp and Grits

A delicious blend of Cajun spices, fresh catfish, and juicy shrimp served over creamy grits.

  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup grits
  • 1 pound catfish fillets
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Instructions

  1. In a pot, bring chicken broth to a boil and add grits. Cook according to package instructions.
  2. Meanwhile, season catfish and shrimp with Cajun seasoning.
  3. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Sauté bell pepper, onion, and garlic until softened.
  4. Add catfish fillets to the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  5. Add shrimp to the skillet and cook until pink, about 3-4 minutes.
  6. Stir in heavy cream and return catfish to the skillet, cooking until everything is heated through.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the seafood in Cajun seasoning for an hour before cooking.
  • Serve with a sprinkle of fresh parsley on top.
