Gather Your Ingredients

Before diving into cooking, it’s essential to gather all the necessary ingredients. Having everything on hand prevents any last-minute dashes to the grocery store. Here’s what you’ll need:

2 to 3 pounds of boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 cup of chicken broth (low sodium preferred)
1 cup of heavy cream
1 cup of freshly grated Parmesan cheese
4 cloves of garlic, minced
2 teaspoons of Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

With these ingredients, you'll be well on your way to creating a comforting, creamy dish that satisfies your taste buds and warms your heart. For more ingredient alternatives, check out BBC Good Food for inspiration.

Layer the Chicken

Now let’s get to the fun part! Start by placing your chicken breasts in the bottom of the crockpot. It's best to arrange them in a single layer; this ensures that they cook evenly and soak up all the delicious flavors you’re about to add. While layering, you can sprinkle a bit of salt and pepper on top to season the chicken in advance.

Mix the Creamy Sauce

In a separate bowl, combine your heavy cream, chicken broth, minced garlic, and Italian seasoning. Whisk them together until they’re well combined. The heavy cream provides a luscious texture, while the Parmesan cheese offers a rich, savory flavor that will coat the chicken beautifully. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can also add a touch of lemon juice for some brightness!

This creamy mix is where the magic happens, so make sure it’s evenly blended. A smooth sauce is key for making this dish truly easy.

Pour Sauce Over the Chicken

Once your sauce is mixed, it’s time to pour it over the chicken in the crockpot. Make sure to cover the chicken entirely so every bite is drenched in that creamy goodness.

At this point, you can enjoy the wonderful aroma that fills your kitchen. Trust me, it's just a teaser of what’s to come!

Cook in the Crockpot

Set your crockpot to low for 6 to 8 hours, or on high for about 4 hours. Cooking on low provides the tender, juicy outcome that everyone craves. There’s something so satisfying about coming home to a meal that’s ready to serve after a long day.

If you’ve never used a crockpot before, you might be pleased to know that it’s designed to cook food evenly while encouraging flavors to meld together beautifully. If you need some tips on slow-cooking, consider visiting America's Test Kitchen for more insights.

Shred the Chicken

When the cooking time is up, take a fork and shred the chicken directly in the crockpot. It will practically fall apart, thanks to the hours of cooking. Stir everything together so that the shredded chicken is well-coated in the creamy sauce, maximizing flavor in each bite.

Serve and Enjoy

Finally, it’s time to serve your easy crockpot creamy garlic parmesan chicken. It pairs beautifully with rice, pasta, or even on its own with some steamed veggies on the side. Don't forget to garnish it with chopped fresh parsley for that extra pop of color and freshness.
