Old Time Oven Peach Cobbler

A classic dessert that brings back memories with its warm, juicy peaches and crumbly topping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups sliced fresh peaches
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine sliced peaches and 1/2 cup sugar; set aside.
  3. In another bowl, mix flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Stir in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased baking dish and then spoon the peach mixture over the top.
  6. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.
  7. Serve warm, optionally with ice cream.

Notes

  • For added flavor, consider adding a pinch of cinnamon to the peaches.
  • Don’t skip letting the cobbler rest for a few minutes before serving, as it helps the juices set.
