Delicious cookies with maraschino cherries and chocolate chips for a perfect sweet treat.
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp almond extract
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 jar (10 oz) maraschino cherries, drained and chopped
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Pink or red food coloring (optional)
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, cream the butter, sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs, vanilla extract, and almond extract, and mix until well combined.
In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
Stir in the chopped maraschino cherries, chocolate chips, and food coloring (if using).
Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets.
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Cool on a wire rack.
Optional: Add pink or red food coloring for a festive touch.
