French Onion Meatballs

Juicy meatballs infused with rich French onion flavors, slow-cooked to perfection for a hearty, comforting meal. Perfect for pairing with mashed potatoes, rice, or crusty bread.

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt & pepper
  • 2 cups French onion soup
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • ½ cup shredded Swiss cheese (optional)

Instructions

 

  1.  Combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Form into 20-24 meatballs.
  2. (Optional) Brown meatballs in a skillet for 2-3 minutes per side.
  3. Place meatballs in the slow cooker.
  4. Mix French onion soup, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce. Pour over meatballs.
  5. Cook on low for 4-6 hours or high for 2-3 hours.
  6. Sprinkle with Swiss cheese during the last 10 minutes. Let it melt.
  7. Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or pasta.

Notes

  • Browning the meatballs adds extra flavor but is optional.
  • Use low-sodium versions of soup, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce if needed.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for 3 days.
