Chocolate Earthquake Cake

  • 1 package chocolate cake mix
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, water, and oil. Mix until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth.
  4. Grease a cake pan and pour half of the chocolate batter into the pan.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture on top, then pour the remaining chocolate batter over it.
  6. Sprinkle chocolate chips and nuts on top.
  7. Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let cool before serving.

Notes

  • For an extra indulgent treat, top with whipped cream or ice cream.
  • Can be served warm or chilled.
