Balsamic Blueberry Goat Cheese Crostinis Recipe

A delightful appetizer combining tangy goat cheese, fresh blueberries, and a sweet balsamic glaze on crisp crostinis.

Ingredients

Scale

1 baguette, sliced
4 oz goat cheese, softened
1 cup fresh blueberries
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
2 tbsp honey
Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

Prepare Crostinis: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet and toast for 10 minutes until golden brown.

Make Balsamic Glaze: In a small saucepan, combine balsamic vinegar and honey. Simmer until reduced by half and thickened.

Assemble Crostinis: Spread goat cheese on each toasted slice. Top with fresh blueberries and drizzle with balsamic glaze.

Garnish and Serve: Garnish with fresh basil leaves. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • Make Ahead: The balsamic glaze can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to a week. Warm it slightly before using.
  • Bread Type: A baguette works best due to its firm, crusty texture, but any rustic bread can substitute if needed.
  • Goat Cheese Alternatives: Cream cheese, ricotta, or even whipped feta can replace goat cheese for those who prefer a milder or different flavor.
  • Assembly Tip: It’s best to assemble the crostinis just before serving to ensure they remain crispy and the blueberries fresh.
  • Customization: Feel free to experiment with different fruit toppings like figs, raspberries, or even thin apple slices for a new flavor profile.
