Step-by-step Preparation for Garlic Butter Sheet Pan Boil

Creating a delicious Garlic Butter Sheet Pan Boil is not only about the fantastic flavor combinations but also about the joy of cooking efficiently. Let’s walk through each step to ensure your meal is a hit!

Prepping your ingredients

Before you dive into the cooking, it’s essential to have everything ready. Gather the following ingredients:

• Baby red potatoes
• Corn on the cob (cut into halves)
• Shrimp, peeled and deveined
• Turkey bacon (or chicken ham for a lighter option)
• Fresh garlic, minced
• Butter
• Fresh lemon
• Olive oil
• Old Bay seasoning or your favorite crab boil seasoning
• Salt and pepper

Having everything washed, cut, and measured will make your cooking experience smooth and enjoyable. How many times have you started cooking only to realize you’re missing an ingredient? This prep work can save you a frantic run to the store!

Boil those baby red potatoes

The first cooking step is to give your baby red potatoes a quick boil. This will ensure they get tender enough to roast perfectly in the oven.

1. Start by bringing a pot of salted water to a rolling boil.
2. Add your baby red potatoes and boil them for about 10–12 minutes, until they’re fork-tender.
3. Drain the potatoes and give them a little shake in the colander to roughen up their skins. This helps achieve a crispy texture later in the oven.

Get the oven ready

While your potatoes are boiling, preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). A good hot oven is essential for that beautiful caramelization we’re aiming for!

Combine the star ingredients

Once you’re done with the boiling, it’s time to bring all the favorite components together. On a large sheet pan, place the drained potatoes, pieces of turkey bacon (or chicken ham), and corn halves. This will serve as the base of your garlic butter sheet pan boil.

Feel free to mix and match with other veggies like bell peppers or asparagus if you’d enjoy a more colorful presentation.

Whisk together your garlic butter mix

In a bowl, combine:

• ½ cup of melted butter
• 8 cloves of minced garlic
• Zest and juice of one lemon
• A dash of Old Bay seasoning, salt, and pepper to taste

Whisk these ingredients together until well combined. This rich mixture is what will elevate your meal, allowing the flavors to sing.

Mix everything for the first bake

Drizzle half of your garlic butter mix over the ingredients in your sheet pan. Toss everything well to ensure that each piece is coated in that sumptuous garlic butter goodness.

Spread the mixture out into an even layer and bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes. You should start smelling the delightful aroma wafting through your kitchen!

Add the shrimp for the perfect finish

Now comes the star of the show—shrimp! After the initial bake, carefully remove the sheet pan and sprinkle the shrimp all over the vegetables. Don’t forget to drizzle on the remaining garlic butter mix for those extra flavor layers.

Return the sheet pan to the oven and bake for an additional 10-12 minutes, or until the shrimp turn pink and plump.

Enjoy the ease of this garlic butter sheet pan boil—it’s flavorful, colorful, and visually appealing. Plus, you won’t have a mountain of dishes to clean later!

After everything is cooked to perfection, serve immediately, garnished with a sprinkle of fresh parsley or lemon wedges. Enjoy every bite of this satisfying dish, perfect for gatherings or a casual weeknight dinner!

Now, aren’t you excited to dig into this deliciousness? Happy cooking, everyone!

Helpful cooking hacks for success

To avoid a soggy meal, line your baking sheet with parchment paper. It’s a game-changer for easy cleanup and helps the dish cook evenly. If you're looking to enhance the flavor, try adding a sprinkle of smoked paprika or a dash of lemon juice before serving—these little touches can make a huge difference!
